Phytoactive Serum by Royal Fern
The Phytoactive serum is an anti-aging serum potent with antioxidants (Vitamin C and E), botanical extracts and hydrating ingredients. It protects the skin from environmental factors while stimulating the metabolism of the connective tissue and the production of collagen, optimizing the elasticity of the skin and reducing hyperpigmentation.
Main ingredients:
+ OSMUNDA REGALIS LEAF (FERN) EXTRACT: which does have antioxidant properties to protect against environmental damages and light-induced skin aging; It also stimulates production of new collagen via an increased release of growth factors and provides some anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-pigmentation properties.
+ LIPACTIVE SOLARINEยฎ III: acts as a repairing, anti-inflammatory and sun protection agent. It protects the skin barrier because of all the saturated, unsaturated and unsaponidiable fatty acids fatty acids, vitamin E and beta-carotene, reduces rate of water loss and protects skin against solar aggressions and boosts action of UVB solar filters.
+ ACEROMINE: made of BARBADOS CHERRY extract rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, several polyphenols, hydrating polysaccharides and the B vitamin folate which provide antioxidant, anti-aging, lightening (it inhibits tyrosinase enzyme), regenerating ( it stimulates collagen production) and firming properties. It can also protect our skin lipids from free radical damage.

As you may know, I do mini experimental studies for some of the products that I review. This means that 2 or 3 people with different skin types and concerns are going to participate and use the product for awhile, Iโll monitor the results & make a conclusion in the end.

Iโve been using this serum twice a day (3 drops each time) for about a month. It is a very light serum, not greasy, has a subtle scent to it, glides on the skin and absorbs really quickly. Since it contains Hyaluronic acid it is suggested by Dr. Golueke to apply your moisturizer before the Phytoactive Serum has been fully dried to help seal in moisture into the skin; I paired it with the Ayuna’s Cream I. As soon as you put it on you can see the plumping, firming effect. Thanks to all the ingredients with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, this serum does not irritate my sensitive acne prone skin or cause any breakouts! It wears well under makeup and is safe to be used around the eyes (I mix a drop of this serum with my eye cream). The combination of vitamin C and E in the formula works wonders against hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. The brightening effect was very noticeable after a few weeks, specially around my eyes!
My mom also enjoyed using this serum. She used it only at nights and since the formula was drying on her skin (HA could be drying in dry climates), she mixed the serum with her moisturizer and then applied a face oil on top of it. Her complexion was more radiant after 4 weeks.
In summary, this serum is a very gentle anti-aging treatment and suits every skin type. The high concentration of actives makes it effective in hydrating, brightening and helping improve the skin elasticity.
