This is a very potent vitamin C serum which is formulated with 15% L ascorbic acid. They also have a version containing 10% ascorbic acid which is more suitable for sensitive skin or for people who want to build tolerance. The main ingredients are:โฃ

As you can see the main ingredients are very similar to the Skinceuticals C E Ferulic serumโs; 15% ascorbic acid with the addition of ferulic acid and vitamin E to stabilize the formula. There are a few differences though; while Skinceuticals uses ethoxydiglycol and propylene glycol as solvent and delivery ingredients, the Apothekari serum contains Propanediol, which does the same job and some believe it is a safer choice (I personally donโt think there is a difference).โฃ
Iโve been using this serum on and off for 3 months now. It is recommended to be used 3 times a week; however my skin is used to the high concentrations of ascorbic acid and is able to handle the everyday usage. It absorbs quickly, has the common ascorbic acid smell and gives a plump, radiant finish. The texture is oilier than the Skinceuticals serum but it did not make my skin greasy or cause any irritation or break outs! The formula contains hydrating ingredients such as Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate and some potent antioxidants such as Green tea extract, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Astaxanthin, Lycopene, Lutein, R โ Alpha Lipoic Acid and Beta-Carotene. โฃ

In summary, the serum is rich in actives to address skin aging. It contains different types of antioxidants to protect against environmental damages; high concentration of ascorbic acid to brighten the skin (by suppressing melanin synthesis) and promote collagen synthesis; and vitamin E to reenforce the skin barrier. This is an all-in-one anti-aging serum, highly recommend to everyone.โฃ
