Very effective on treating whiteheads, fungal acne, and folliculitis. It comes in 2.5%, 5%, and 10% concentrations.

Characteristics:
– Exfoliant
– Antibacterial
– Anti inflammatory

Mechanism:
It works primarily as an exfoliating agent by increasing the turnover of the skin and removes the mixture of sebum and dead skin cells from the pores. It also works to destroy acne-causing bacteria in your pores.

Side effects:
Peeling and irritation may occur, especially at the start of treatment. Apply a smaller amount of the drug or use it less often.
Bleaches the fabrics, towels, hair

Super powers:
– It works quickly, as early as a week!
– Benzoyl peroxide works very similar to Salicylic acid but with more antibacterial properties.
– Unlike antibiotics bacteria can not become resistant to Benzoyl Peroxide
– Itโ€™s antibacterial property is independent from the concentration

Direction of use:
It comes in the form of gel, cream, mask, or cleanser. If used in the wash form you can tolerate it better because it wonโ€™t sit on your face for a long time. Use it in the gel form for spot treatment.
